As soon as we entered the Storybook CafĂ©, which was in our hotel, I saw Meeko, which already made me feel a little bit better. We sat down, and our waitress was seriously the nicest server I have ever had. She was only responsible for beverages since it was a buffet but she brought over juice immediately, along with Mickey Mouse waffles, and she was always there refilling my coffee. I don’t know, she just stuck out.
The characters came around - first was Meeko and he gave me the best hug I have had in a very long time. It was the hug I needed. I call them epic hugs. Later was the bear from Brother Bear (which I haven't seen so it's ok I don’t know his name, unlike Katie who has seen it!), then Chip and Dale. Let me just say, this Chip…..he was not fun. He was totally lame, and it upset me. Dale was fine, I adored him and he appreciated my shrit (which was Chip n Dale). Turk came around and I don’t really like monkeys, but it went well.
I started getting emotional gain - since I felt awful and it was the last time I'd everyone. And I was talking to Michelle again about life and dreams and yeah the water works just started. Then Meeko came around again, and I told him I needed another one of his epic hugs - and that’s just what I got. Then I started tearing up again. We explained it was our last day and we were very sad about it, we didn’t want to leave. Meeko dried my tears and gave me another hug. Then music started playing, which was the que for all the characters to dance along with anyone else who wanted to join (mainly children though) - much like the dancing at Goofy's Kitchen.
Meeko grabbed my hand, and led me into the line going around the room and eventually ending up in a circle in the middle of the room. They called out moves for us to do, so I did them. Immediately as the song ended, he grabbed my hand again, and took me back to my table. He high-fived the kids that came up to him as he was escorting me back, but he never let go of my hand. I asked him to come home with me haha that I could be his new Pocahontas, since he implied she was off all the time. I sang to him, and I think he accepted me as his new Pocahontas haha. He gave me one last epic hug and I did feel better. It's an experience I'll never forget.
After breakfast we headed back to the room to finish up packing and head to
He was fantastic. When I asked him to sign my shirt, he wanted to sign with all the markers, which I think would have been awesome, but he had me hand them all to him one by one as he examined them, evening smelling a few until he found the right one. He ended up with green, and when he saw that he exclaimed "what, where is the red one!?". So I gave him back the red one. Everytime he tried to cap one of the markers (I had the cap in my hand, he had the pen) he would stumble and ask me to stop moving. He signed my shirt with a very nice signature and as we posed for a picture, he first put it over my face, and then lowered it. He was quite nice and he makes me laugh, we're a cute couple I think. It was Katie's turn, and he stared her down. When one of the pirates came up to him and asked what he was doing, Captain responded with "I'm marking you" and proceeded to chase around people with my red sharpie. He soon returned it and we said our goodbyes. (Don't we look like a cute couple? Don't tell Pooh!)
We explored the island, going through a cave and getting a wee bit lost haha but we made it back to the dock to wait for the raft to take us back. As the raft came over I exclaimed "it's our pirate!" and pointed. It was the same pirate from lunch the other day. He looked at me with such a pirate look, but I think he knew who we were. I like to think so anyway.
We checked out all the shops around
We wandered to
We decided to go over to California Adventure and wait in line for Midway Mania. On the way, I stopped in a shop and found my sweatshirt! Katie and I got in this mindset where we didn’t really care how much money we spent, in fact we would try to get to 50 dollars so we could get 10% by showing our Disney Visa. It's not going to be fun when that bill comes!
It said it was an 80 minute wait for Midway Mania, but it only took 50. They were pretty good about keeping the line in shaded areas, and they had drink stands right near it. It was worth it too - the ride was pretty incredible and a lot of fun. I was even beating Katie for most of it, but no she had to go and score lots of points in the end. After Midway Mania I wanted a Churro because I smelled them for the past three days and they smelled delicious. So I got my churro, and it indeed was delicious. It was a day of spending money.
We headed back to Disneyland and went on the
We got our bags and strategically packed all our new souvenirs so we wouldn’t have to check more than one bag of luggage - go us! We said goodbye to Quinn and got into the car. Our flgiht was delayed and delayed, it was supposed to take off at 10pm, but it didn’t end up leaving until 1:40 in the morning, but we made it home - back to reality.
